RNLI Visit
8th Mar 2017
Peter came to talk to us about his work as a volunteer with the RNLI.
Did you know that in the UK the lifeboats have 23 call-outs every 24 hours ?
We learned what each of the flags we would see on the beach mean.
The most important flag is the red flag - it means you can't go into the water.
You can only swim between the red and yellow flags on the beach.
IF YOU DO GET INTO TROUBLE IN THE WATER WAVE AND SHOUT "HELP"!
We got a chance to take on different roles - some people were the lifeboat crew,
some were the casualty and some people had to make the 999 call.
