P3/4/5 have been learning about a debate and making arguments for and against an issue with Mrs Cochrane.
Today we were debating whether pupils at Garryduff should be able to use Fidget Spinners during class time!
P7 joined us in our public gallery! All our witnesses had to promise to tell the truth!!
Councils for and against brought valuable arguments to the table and witnesses were called who made some very good points.
A number of isuues were raised about their use for children who have difficulty concentrating on their work and with special needs.
One witness even provided test scores to show his improvement in spellings!!
The resident Judge for the day considered all the evidence provided and ruled that fidget spinners could continue to be used at break and lunch time and if children have a medical letter to show it would benefit their concentration then they may use them during class as well!!
