Criteria for admission

Admissions criteria are to be used in the event of the school being oversubscribed.  The criteria are listed in order of priority:

  1. Children who are resident in Northern Ireland at the time of the proposed admission.
  2. The child must be of compulsory school age (ie. He/she must attain the age of 4 years on or before 1st July in the year of admission)
  3. Children who have an older brother/sister or half brother/sister or foster brother/sister already attending the school.
  4. Children whose older siblings (including half/foster) were past pupils.
  5. Children whose parent/guardian is a prior pupil of the school.
  6. Children who are the first or only child in the family.
  7. Children whose parent/guardian is a member of staff.
  8. Preference will be given to those children living nearest the school, measured as the straight-line from the school to the child’s home using the measurement tool on the NI Direct website
  9. Children will be admitted in age order from eldest to youngest until all places are filled.

The Board of Governors reserves the right to require such supplementary evidence as it may determine necessary to support or verify any information on the application form.

 

Admissions, enrolment and attendance

For the 2015/2016 year, the admissions number as set by DENI was 10 with the total enrolment number of 70.  The year commenced with a total of 72    pupils on the roll.  (This was permitted by the Department of Education through our application for a Temporary Variance to our admissions number)
